JOEL DOLINSKI
11.20.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Our pal Dave Dameshek returned to the show, discussing his beloved Penguins, "Cheers," superhero movies, and lots of other good stuff. The Ed also stopped by to give everyone a preview of his upcoming radio show. Larry and I closed things out with our Top 11 Comedic Influences. It's two hours and 15 minutes of fake radio gold.

11.18.08

Is Dallas Done?

I picked the Dallas Stars to come out of the West. I also pegged Marty Turco as my Vezina winner. I was misinformed.

11.17.08

Mauled Mullet

Barry Melrose, we hardly knew ye.

11.14.08

The Bettmans

In case you missed its debut on the podcast, here is the first episode of "The Bettmans," a new sitcom based on the life of one Mr. Gary Bettman. It's already garnering serious Emmy buzz.

11.13.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Yahoo's Sean Leahy, The Ed, and the world premiere of "The Bettmans."

11.12.08

Staaled

The reports of Jordan Staal's demise have been greatly exaggerated. Staal single-handedly destroyed those filthy Red Wings last night, leading the Penguins to a thrilling 7-6 OT win.

11.11.08

It's Go Time

Pittsburgh at Detroit tonight, the Rangers hit a new low, and Colin Campbell continues his one-man crusade against common sense.

11.11.08

Luongo Leading the Way

Roberto Luongo is up to his old tricks.

11.10.08

Injustice League

The NHL has been given another chance to send a message regarding hits from behind. But if I know Colin Campbell like I know Colin Campbell, expect justice to remain blind, not to mention deaf and dumb.

11.06.08

Smoked Semin

Sidney Crosby and Michel Therrien respond to the Alexander Semin comments, and the Arctic Birds unveil their new third sweaters.

11.06.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

We were going to talk hockey and Martin Brodeur and whatnot, but then The Ed called right off the hop, so screw that. We yapped with The Ed for the entire first hour, covering his recent doctor's appointment, his trip to the Texas-Texas Tech game, his love of Dolemite, and his football picks. "The Baby" even got on the phone. In the second hour, Cousin Brandon made his triumphant return, discussing "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and his Top 11 Favorite Candy.

11.04.08

Team Teemu

The Finnish Flash is flying high, and he's carrying the Ducks with him.

11.03.08

Just Ducky

The Anaheim Ducks are back. In other news, Marty Turco is brutal, Alexander Semin isn't that bright, and Kid Crosby still needs a curve.

10.31.08

Doppleganger

Did you ever notice NHL coaches look like other dudes? I have.

10.31.08

Halloween Fun 'n' Games

I didn't feel like writing a new Halloween feature, so here's something from two years ago. Reruns are swell.

10.30.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

We actually talked hockey at the start, discussing Mats Sundin, Brendan Shanahan, Doug Weight's hit on Brandon Sutter, and whether the Pens should trade Jordan Staal for Marian Gaborik. BlogTalk wouldn't let Cousin Brandon on the show, so we bagged the Top 11 list, but Larry and I did finish our Top 11 SNL skits. Two words: Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer. Of course, the true highlight was The Ed, who called in to give his football picks and tell us all about his new job. The Ed also sang "Billie Jean," "Sexual Healing," and something about candy-coated jeans. It was Ed-tastic.

10.24.08

What Price Gabby?

The NHL General Managers are meeting in Chicago. Not only is this a boon to the Windy City hookers, it also means Marian Gaborik could find a new home. And I'm saying it should be Pittsburgh.

10.23.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

A special hockey-free edition, featuring our pal The Ed and our Top 11 Favorite Saturday Night Live Skits.

10.21.08

NHL A-Team

I like hockey. I like TV. And when the two mix, you get stuff like this.

10.20.08

The Real McCoys

The first week or so of the NHL season has been full of shenanigans and assorted monkeyshine, but what’s real? Are the Rangers truly Stanley Cup contenders? Are the Ducks washed up? Are the Dallas Stars all wearing ladies’ underpants?

10.17.08

Caps Club Birds

The Washington Capitals silenced the Igloo, storming back from three goals down to stun the Penguins 4-3. And they couldn't have done it without Kid Crosby's help.

10.16.08

I Hate Fabian

Fabian Brunnstrom scored three goals last night. Jerk.

10.16.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Mike Chen, from Kukla's Korner, Battle of California, Fox Sports, and Versus, stopped by to talk San Jose Sharks and assorted Star Wars nonsense. Then our pal The Ed paid a visit. Not only did The Ed give his football picks, he also helped us go "Around BlogTalk," as we discussed RVD Radio with Rob Van Dam. Then The Ed tried to hit on a neighbor lady live on the air. I thought it was wonderful, but the neighbor lady's man didn't seem to appreciate it.

10.15.08

Hockey Player for Life

Our pal Howard Shapiro wrote a kid's book called "Hockey Player for Life." It's becoming all the rage with the hockey kids and whatnot, so why not pick up one for your favorite hockey kid? The book is being sold through shop.nhl.com and is available at Amazon.com and other fine retailers. Reading is fundamental.

10.15.08

Fear Dupuis

Pascal Dupuis scored with just 11 seconds left in overtime, lifting the Arctic Birds to a 3-2 win over the Flyers. Jarome Iginla was also Jarome Iginla last night, notching the Gordie Howe hat trick in a 5-4 win over the Avs.

10.14.08

Break Up the Blueshirts

The New York Rangers are on quite the tear, but I'm not buying it. Also, Sergei Fedorov is playing defense, Jack Johnson isn't, and that John Donne guy could sure turn a phrase.

10.13.08

Boucher Blanks Kings

Here's a recap of Sunday night's action, including Brian Boucher posting a shutout, Dustin Penner scoring a pair, and the Coyotes sticking it to the Ducks.

10.12.08

Swedish Surprise

Our pal Andre Soderholm went to the second Pittsburgh-Ottawa game in Stockholm. And surprisingly, he didn't exactly have a good time.

10.11.08

Thrashed

Kari Lehtonen stoned Alexander Ovechkin on a penalty shot, sparking the Atlanta Thrashers to a 7-4 win over the Washington Capitals. Oh, and Donald Brashear is a punk.

10.10.08

Avery Video

Here's a link to the E60 interview with Sean Avery I've been talking about. Again, it is glorious. Watch it immediately.

10.10.08

Opening Night

I love the Maple Leafs.

10.09.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

The great Earl Sleek, from Battle of California, stopped by to talk about his beloved Anaheim Ducks and a little A-Team. Jim Iovino returned from Italy yet refused to talk about it, and our pal The Ed gave his fooball picks, talked some baseball, and sang a couple songs.

10.07.08

Avery Alert

I just saw Sean Avery interviewed on ESPN. I rib you not. And it was glorious.

10.05.08

Heatley Halts Pens

Dany Heatley scored two more goals, both on the power-play, to pace the Senators to a 3-1 win over the Penguins. Yeah, I hate Heatley.

10.05.08

Helsinki Autograph Hunt

Our pal Timo Laitinen was kind enough to file this report about the Penguins' exhibition game against Jokerit. I just got the email this morning, so pretend you're reading it a couple days ago. Imaginations are fun.

10.04.08

Kennedy!

Tyler Kennedy had two goals, including the winner in overtime, to lead the Penguins to victory over the Senators in Sweden. Wow, I can't wait for the season to start.

10.03.08

The Cool List

The first Cool List of the new season. These guys got the goods.

10.02.08

Book It

According to the court-ordered community service, I'm required to make some sort of predictions for the upcoming season. Yippee.

10.02.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Hockey, TV, The Ed, and my Top 11 Paul Newman movies.

09.26.08

The Ed's Week Four Picks

The Ed had a strong Week Three. And remember, you got two sticks and a gun, you can't make biscuits.

09.25.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Our pal Sean Leahy, from Yahoo's Puck Daddy and Going Five Hole, stopped by to talk some puck. The Ed called from Vegas to give his football picks. And Jim Iovino got on a box to name his Top 11 Movie quotes. Jim's seen 11 movies?

09.24.08

Broken Johnson

This is just one of those injuries that's hard to believe...

09.23.08

Pay to Play

The NHL will stream games online. And for a mere $169 a season, you can help feed an NHL player's housekeeper... Help Gary Bettman help those who can already afford to help themselves.

09.22.08

Fun with Conference Calls

Thanks to the joys of media conference call transcripts, I can pretend to interview Daniel Alfredsson. Imaginations are swell.

09.19.08

Who Canceled?

I wasn't going to post anything else today, but this is too glorious to ignore. Allow me to quote from the linked article: "The National Hockey League (NHL) will launch the 2008-09 season with NHL Face-Off Rocks™ 2008, an opening day spectacular headlined by the world’s greatest arena rock band, Def Leppard, on Thursday, Oct. 9." Leave it to the NHL to pour some suck on you. Def Leppard? Was Winger booked?

09.19.08

Player Ratings - Left Wings

09.19.08

Ralphie Owns Vince Vaughn

On this week's fake radio show, I mentioned Vince Vaughn and Peter "Ralphie" Billingsley were once in an After School Special about steroids. Well, here's proof.

09.19.08

The Ed's Week Three Picks

The Ed had a rough time in Week Two, but it's a long season.

09.18.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

It was a banner show, featuring Jonathan Bombulie, The Ed, and the return of Cousin Brandon!

09.14.08

Ice-olations

Check out some of the NHL's new third jerseys, Steve Yzerman's brief comeback, some injury news and more...

09.14.08

Player Ratings - Right Wings

09.13.08

Player Ratings - Centers

09.11.08

The Ed's Week Two Picks

The Ed missed last night's radio show, but he called me this afternoon to give his Week Two NFL picks.

09.11.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Last night on the big fake radio show, we welcomed Joe Pelletier from GreatestHockeyLegends.com. He talked about the 1972 Summit Series, Rendez Vouz 87, the Canada Cup, and all sorts of other stuff. The Ed was AWOL, but our pal Bernie called in to talk MMA and poker, and then Matthew Secosky discussed some fantasy hockey. We closed with a clip of one Mr. David Dameshek discussing my girl Tina Fey. And I was not amused.

09.09.08

Fleury Returning To The Ice?

Is Theo Fleury making a return to hockey?

09.08.08

Player Ratings - Goaltenders

Summer vacation is over. Time to get back to the fake journalism. We'll kick things off with the annual goalie rankings.

09.04.08

LCS Hockey Radio Show

Yahoo's Greg Wyshynski spent the first hour with us, talking hockey, G.I. Joe, and other such shenanigans. Then Larry and I gave him our Top 11 Ways to Improve the NHL. In the second hour, our pal The Ed stopped by to give us his picks for Week One of the NFL season. He's big on Indy, Dallas, and Minnesota. Bet accordingly.

09.01.08

Bolts Buck Up, Acquire Meszaros

Tampa Bay continues to shuffle its lineup before the season. We break down the deal that makes Andrej Meszaros a key member of the Lightning defense.
