Is It So, Joe?by Jim Iovino, Ace Reporter Will he or won't he? Joe Sakic's still unsure about his future in the NHL. On Monday Sakic told a Colorado radio station that he hasn't made up his mind if he's coming back to the NHL for another season or retiring. He said the decision might be made in the "next couple of weeks." He said the decision isn't going to be based on a coaching change in Colorado, whether or not Peter Forsberg comes back or any other factor other than how he feels and whether he thinks he can prepare for another year in the NHL. "I will say I don't want this to linger too much longer," Sakic told radio station KJCD. "I should make my final decision pretty soon. Whatever that is, I want to make sure it's 100 percent sure." More Retirement NewsMats Sundin is also contemplating his future. He said he will probably make up his mind in August. Right now he's playing in a Forsberg golf tournament in Sweden and doesn't seem too concerned about making an announcement anytime soon. At least several teams have expressed interest in his services, including the Maple Leafs, Canucks and Canadiens.
Theo UpdateBefore we go, I just wanted to say thanks to Theo Fleury for joining us on the LCS Hockey Radio Show last week. Being a proud Fleury fan for years, it was an honor to finally get a chance to interview him. Make sure you check out some of Theo's many entrepreneurial endeavors. If you need some concrete-related items in Calgary, visit Fleury's Concrete Coatings. And if you need some FAKE merchandise, head on over to FakeInk.ca, where you can find Fleury's Artistic Kustom Enterprises. You can buy some hats, jerseys, T-shirts and more. Oh, and if you want to see Theo's hit with the Calgary Vipers minor-league baseball team (and his attempt at breaking up a double play and his adventure in the outfield) click on the videos below. Thanks to Going Five Hole for the head's up on these.
